Incompetent – An incompetent person is someone who, as a result of some infirmity, is unable to manage their own day to day affairs. When a court adjudicates someone as incompetent, it will appoint a guardian to manage the incompetent’s affairs. Incompetence is not always permanent, and if appropriate, the court can also adjudicate someone to be competent again.
