Guardian – A guardian is a person appointed by a court to take care of a person who, for reason of age, infirmity, or other deficiency, is considered incapable of managing his own affairs. Old people with dementia, and adults with mental, intellectual or developmental disabilities often need a guardian. In the case of children, courts may appoint a guardian during the child’s minority, if their parents, who are their natural guardians, cannot care for them.
